πŸƒ Ball Crossing the Touch Line (Sideline)

There is no throw-in.

When the ball crosses the sideline:

  • A player from the opposing team (not the team that touched it last) will place the ball on the touch line
  • They pass or dribble the ball into play
  • Opponents must be at least 5m away from the ball
  • The ball must touch a team mate before a goal can be scored

🎯 Ball Crossing the Goal Line

There is no corner kick.

When the ball crosses the goal line (regardless of which team touched it last):

  • A player from the team whose goal line the ball crossed will place the ball anywhere along the goal line
  • They pass or dribble the ball into play
  • Opponents must retreat to the halfway line
  • Opponents can move once the ball is in play
  • The ball must touch a team mate before a goal can be scored

πŸ“ No Offside

There is no offside rule in MiniRoos Under 6 & 7.

Game Leaders should strongly discourage children from permanently standing in blatant offside positions.

⚠️ Fouls and Misconduct

Indirect free kicks are awarded for all acts of handball or fouls and misconduct.

When an indirect free kick is taken:

  • Opponents must be at least 5m away from the ball
  • A goal can be scored only if the ball touches another player before entering the goal

Most acts of handball or fouls at this level are caused by lack of coordination with no intent. Game Leaders should try to give advantage to the attacking team and continue play where possible.

πŸ₯… Goal Type

Pop-up style portable goals are preferred, but poles or markers as goals are also suitable.

Important: Portable goals must be anchored securely to the ground using sandbags or pegs to comply with Australian Safety Standards.

πŸ“Š Match Results & Points Tables

Match results are recorded for the purpose of assigning teams to appropriate leagues only.

Match results will NOT be published publicly.

Points tables do not exist in Under 6 & 7 football.

The focus is on fun, development, and enjoyment for all players!
